Kabul, May 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) A total of 13,492 families have received cash assistance in Logar province in eastern Afghanistan, the office of the Minister of State for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs announced on Sunday.
Each family received 7,500 Afghanis ($85) in the provincial capital of Pul-e-Alam and the suburban districts of Mohammad Agha and Baraki Barak, Xinhua news agency quoted the bureau as saying.
The aid was the second batch distributed to the same families, sources said.
In addition, provincial disaster management officials distributed food aid to 100 flood-affected families in the western province of Herat, the office said.
The families were identified through surveys conducted jointly by provincial officials and members of local aid agencies.
The Bureau added that increased humanitarian aid would be provided to needy families in remote provinces in the coming days or weeks.
