TOTAL cash assistance of 2.8 million pesos was granted to rice farmers in the city of Toledo and the municipality of Pinamungajan on Monday, January 10, 2022.
The financial subsidy is part of the Global Rice Improvement Fund – Financial Assistance to Rice Growers (RCEF-RFFA) program.

Agriculture Department 7 regional executive director Joel Elumba said the money was intended for all rice farmers registered in the basic agriculture sector registration system, who are affected by the implementation of the law on rice pricing.
Elumba said the cash grant would also greatly help farmers whose farms were severely damaged by Typhoon Odette.
Currently, Central Visayas is processing the release of cash assistance to farmers in Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
Some 71,366 rice farmers in the region will receive a cash grant worth 361 million pesos this month. (with RP)
